Religious Observance

Religious Observance During First Days

Students with particular needs or interest will want to bear several things in mind as they choose an EphVentures program:

  • The Jewish Sabbath: Students in any EphVentures program will be able to attend services at the Jewish Religious Center on the first Shabbat of their time at Williams. Observant Jewish students who do not wish to ride or carry on Shabbat may wish to choose a program other than WOOLF, or contact the Outing Club to make special arrangements.
  • Kosher food can be made available in all EphVentures programs. Please make this need known to the director of the program you choose as soon as possible.
  • Catholic students who choose WOOLF will be able to attend Mass at 8:00pm in the basement of Thompson Memorial Chapel. All other EphVentures programs have schedules that make Mass attendance possible as well.
  • Students who, for religious reasons, choose a program other than WOOLF should know that there will be MANY other opportunities throughout the academic year to participate in outdoor camping adventures with the Outing Club.
  • If you have any concerns or questions about religious observance and your EphVentures choice, please feel free to contact the program director by phone or email, or one of the Chaplains in the Chaplains Office at 413-597-2483.
